  5. Read this page and take the quiz

Go through how calls and closeouts work, then take the training check at the bottom.

How a call works

You're on call. We text you when a bank technician needs an armed escort near you. You get paid for the calls you go out on.

  1. Keep your availability current

Fill out the availability form with your days, time blocks and how far you'll drive. Can't take calls for a while? Update it or text the office.

  2. Get the text

The dispatch text has the tech's name and number, the ETA, the work order, the site and the address. Note the time you received it.

  3. Answer fast

Reply yes or no right away so we can call the next guard if needed. Give the office your ETA and save the tech's number.

  4. Get there first

Arrive before the tech's ETA and note your arrival time. Running late? Call the tech and dispatch.

  5. Stay with the tech

Introduce yourself and stay with the tech the whole time they work. Leave only when they're done and gone. Note your departure time.

  6. Submit your closeout

One closeout for every call. Do it the same day. It must be in no later than 3 days after the call.

Closeout cheat sheet

What goes in each field. Copy names and numbers exactly as they appear on the dispatch text.

Deadlines: close out daily, and never later than 3 days after the call. Calls not closed out within the month will not be paid.

On-site rules

Credentials on you

Your NYS Armed Guard Card and firearms permit on you for every call.

Uniform

Wear something that clearly identifies you as a guard and says SECURITY. Need a jacket? Call the office.

Eyes up

No phone scrolling and no sitting in the car while the tech works.

Hands off

Never touch the ATM, the cash or the tech's equipment.

Tech doesn't show

Tech not there or not answering the phone after 10 minutes? Call dispatch.

Emergency

Call 911 first, then dispatch.

Mistakes that cost you money

Wrong or missing WO

We can't bill the call, so we can't pay it.

No closeout

If it isn't submitted, it didn't happen. Do it before you sleep.

Late closeouts

More than 3 days late is a problem. Not closed out within the month means no pay for that call.

Guessed times

Write times down as they happen. The bank checks them.

Going quiet

Late, lost or done? Call. Don't make the office chase you.
